1. the short version

connect is an anonymous, cross-gender chat service. roulette conversations are never stored. you use a handle, not your real name. be decent, or lose access.

2. eligibility

you must be at least 18 years old to use connect. by using the service you confirm you are 18+. accounts found belonging to minors are banned immediately.

3. your account

your account is a handle and a recovery phrase. we cannot recover your phrase for you - we store only a cryptographic hash of it. if you lose your phrase and your device, your account, matches and chats are unrecoverable. treat the phrase like a password: write it down, never share it.

4. acceptable use

you agree NOT to:

• harass, bully, threaten or hate against anyone
• send sexual content to people who haven't asked for it
• use the service if you are under 18
• impersonate others or misrepresent your age
• spam, scam, phish, or run bots
• attempt to identify, track or dox other users
• reverse-engineer, scrape or overload the service

5. moderation & enforcement

we run automated filters and user reporting. violations can result in message blocking, karma loss, temporary shadow-bans or permanent bans. serious reports (3+ in 24 hours) trigger automatic temporary bans pending review.

6. user content & conversations

roulette conversations are end-ephemeral: deleted from our servers the moment the chat ends. match conversations are stored solely to deliver your messaging and are visible only to the two participants. you are solely responsible for what you type. we do not pre-screen users - see our community guidelines and safety notes.

7. meeting people in real life

we cannot verify the identity, intent or history of any user. anyone can claim anything. if you choose to meet someone offline, use common-sense precautions: meet in public, tell a friend, never share financial information. you do this at your own risk.

8. availability & changes

the service is provided "as is". we may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time. we may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

9. limitation of liability

to the maximum extent permitted by law, connect and its operators are not liable for user behaviour, damages arising from user interactions, or loss of data, matches or account access resulting from lost recovery phrases.

10. governing law

these terms are governed by the laws of India. disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at the operator's registered location in India.

1. the short version

we collect the minimum needed to run an anonymous chat service. we never sell your data. we never show ads. roulette conversations are never stored.

2. what we collect

• account: your handle, gender, up to 3 interest tags, an aura seed (a random number that paints your avatar), and a hashed recovery phrase (we store the hash - never the phrase itself)
• device: a random device identifier stored in your browser (localStorage) - not your real identity
• match chats: messages between matched pairs, stored to deliver async messaging
• roulette chats: NOT stored. deleted from our servers the moment a roulette chat ends, for any reason
• safety data: reports, moderation events and karma - used to keep the platform safe
• usage: streaks, daily prompt answers (anonymous feed), basic counts for the "my week" card

3. what we never collect

your real name, email, phone number, photos, precise location, contacts, or any advertising identifiers. there are no third-party ad trackers or analytics SDKs in the app.

4. legal basis (India)

we process personal data under your consent, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules. by using connect and completing onboarding, you consent to this processing. you may withdraw consent by deleting your account (see below) - since we hold no real-world identity, deletion is immediate and complete.

5. your rights

• access & correction: your handle, tags and settings are visible and editable in the app
• erasure: use "switch account" in profile, then email the grievance officer to purge the underlying record; roulette data is already auto-deleted
• grievance officer: per the IT Rules, 2021, we designate a grievance officer - contact details are published on this page when the service launches publicly
• nominations (DPDP): not applicable - accounts are anonymous and non-transferable except via recovery phrase

6. recovery phrase

your recovery phrase is generated in your browser and shown once. we store only its SHA-256 hash - it cannot be reversed, and we cannot recover it for you. if you regenerate, the old phrase is invalidated immediately.

7. security

data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS in production). recovery phrases are stored hashed. roulette message content is never written to disk. access to production data is limited to the operators.

8. retention

roulette messages: deleted instantly on chat end. match messages: kept until you delete them or your account ends. reports/moderation records: up to 90 days. daily prompt answers: until the daily cycle expires them.

9. children

connect is strictly 18+. we do not knowingly process data of anyone under 18. accounts identified as minors are banned and their data deleted.

10. contact & grievance officer

grievance officer (per IT Rules, 2021): contact details will be published here before public launch. until then, use the in-app report system for urgent safety issues.

community guidelines

the vibe code - break it and you're gone

1. 18+ only. no exceptions.

if you are under 18, leave now. if you meet someone who seems under 18, report them immediately.

2. no harassment. ever.

rejection is a complete answer. "no" and silence both mean stop. hate speech, slurs, threats and targeted abuse get you shadow-banned - the other person just stops seeing you, and you'll never know why.

3. keep it clothed, keep it consensual.

no nudity, no sexual content, no unsolicited flirting that ignores signals. this is a vibe-first platform - the point is the conversation.

4. protect yourself.

• never share real names, numbers, socials or addresses with someone you just met
• nobody from connect will ever DM you first or ask for money
• saw something off? report it - 3 reports in 24h and they're auto-gone

5. no scams, no spam, no bots.

crypto pitches, "investment tips", promo links and copy-paste openers are auto-filtered and banned.

6. reports are instant and mostly silent.

reporting never tells the other person. serious patterns trigger automatic bans within minutes. karma and shadow-bans do the quiet work - you'll rarely see drama, just cleaner queues.

7. be the vibe you want to match with.

the whole product is two strangers choosing to talk. make the ten seconds pleasant and everything else works.
